Man killed when car hits tree in Yazoo County

YAZOO COUNTY, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

A Greenville man was killed in a one-vehicle accident on Highway 49 in Yazoo County Friday afternoon.

According to the Cpl. Odis Easterling with the Mississippi Highway Patrol the accident happened shortly before 5 p.m. five miles south of Highway 16.

A gray Nissan Altima driven by Airon Brown, 25, was traveling northbound when it ran off the road, crossed the southbound lane and hit a tree, according to Easterling.

Brown was pronounced dead at the scene. The investigation is ongoing.
