RANKIN COUNTY, MS (Mississippi News Now) -
A multiple car accident near the Lakeland Drive exit in the southbound lanes on Interstate 55 has traffic delayed Monday morning.
Mississippi Department of Transportation reports the collision occurred just after 8 a.m. Officials have moved involved vehicles to the outside shoulder of the southbound lanes, but traffic is slow moving in the area.
Officer Green with Jackson Police Department reports four cars and an 18 wheeler are involved in the crash. Two victims have been transported to a local hospital with unknown injuries.
Drivers headed toward Lakeland Drive at Castlewoods Boulevard should expect delays for approximately two hours. Officials plan to have the accident cleared by 10 a.m.
