It's that time again to show the world why Mississippi students are top of the class. This week Ridgeland and Jackson Prep High schools will compete to see which students have the most school spirit.
The Ridgeland High School Titans will show us how preparing great leaders begin with attending a great high school. These students compete at national levels with alumnus Bianca Knight winning Olympic Gold last year. This School held a STAR rating in the 2010 and 2011 school years, which is the highest rating a public school can achieve.
Fox 40 news will be visiting the Titans on Tuesday January 8th to show off some awesome programs exclusive to the campus:
- The Ambassador program features a group of students hosting adopted schools in the Delta.
- The Titan buddy program offers a select group of seniors who act as mentors and who forfeit their early dismissal to partner with Special needs students.
- The Treat Trolley Program which is used to encourage student participation. Teachers hand out goodies to classrooms who show up on time, have good attendance, and are engaged in classroom activities.
The Jackson Prep Patriots are geared up and ready to show us why academic excellence is the standard. With its 525 National Merit semi finalist, stellar debate team and academic and leadership awards, the students demonstrate why they deserve to compete with schools at the national level.
Fox 40 News will be visit the Patriot campus Wednesday January 9th. The school will share four programs exclusive to the campus:
- The Global Leadership Program places an emphasis on developing students into leaders.
- M.A.D. (Make A Difference) challenges students to make a project from their hearts passion. This program seeks to allow students a hands on approach to positive change starting from their communities, the state and ultimately affecting change in the world.

Students, Parents, and Faculty it's on! Be sure to show your support for both deserving schools. Results will be announced Thursday January the 10th.
