FBI, IRS raid Meridian businesses

JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

FBI and IRS agents raided numerous properties in Meridian and Lauderdale counties that belong to Meridian businessman Bill Gordon.

According to an FBI spokeswoman in Jackson, the federal investigation is an Internal Revenue Service case.

WTOK news in Meridian reported federal investigators searched the New Place Corner Bar, Bill Gordon's barber shop, the Log Cabin bar near Carousel Place Apartments and the sidetrack lounge in Whynot.

FBI and IRS agents with search warrants in hand, also raided a store on Highway 11 and 80 in Russell.

Authorities are not releasing any additional information.
