I-20 reopens after 4-hour closure

WARREN COUNTY, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

The Mississippi Department of Transportation reports all lanes of Interstate 20 westbound past Tiffintown Road in Warren County have reopened after being closed for about four hours.

Traffic backed up for miles Thursday afternoon on I-20 heading toward Vicksburg from Jackson.

A downed tree originally blocked the road, but a Warren County deputy said the real problem was an 18-wheeler that was stuck.

The deputy said the 18-wheeler tried to go around the tree and blocked the road.
