JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

A Jackson native pleaded guilty in federal court Thursday to human trafficking of a child and the production of child porn.

Jemery Hodges, 26, who lives in Cambridge, MA, admitted to traveling to Mississippi to have sex with a child under the age of 10 and producing videos of sexually explicit conduct with the child, according to a press release from the U.S. Attorney's Office.

The investigation into this case started when Massachusetts police received information about the videos. Cambridge police contacted the Department of Homeland Security in Atlanta who worked with the Jackson office to identify the child.

Another man, Marco Laquin Rogers, is also facing charges in the case.

According to Rogers' criminal complaint, the video that sparked the investigation was taken at the Days Inn on Larson Street in Jackson in May 2012.

Hodges will be sentenced Sept. 26 by U.S. District Judge David Bramlette III in Jackson.

The penalty for human trafficking of a minor child is at least 15 years and up to life in prison. The maximum penalty for production of child pornography is 30 years in prison and a $250,000 fine, according to the press release.
