SCOTT COUNTY, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

An official with the Scott County Sheriff's Department confirmed a student was killed in a one-vehicle crash in the county late Saturday night.

Eighteen-year-old Jonathan Bradford, a senior at Scott Central High School and resident of Forest, was killed in the crash, according to his mother Cindy Bradford.

According to an obituary on the Wolf Funeral Services website the accident happened on Old Jackson Road in Forest Saturday. Jonathan holds the state record in his class in powerlifting and was offered a powerlifting scholarship to Texas A&M University, according to the obituary.

Officials haven't confirmed how the crash happened and say it's still under investigation.

Visitation is scheduled for Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., Thursday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Friday from 9 a.m. to 1:45 p.m. at Wolf Funeral Services in Morton. Funeral services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. in the chapel.
