Sound Off: Attorney General clarifies rules for Hinds County Supervisors

Posted: Updated:
JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

The Attorney General informed the Hinds County Supervisors that any one appointed to fill an unexpired term must live in that district.

Gil Sturgis, who had worked for Supervisor Doug Anderson, had individually contacted Hinds Supervisors to offer to serve after Anderson resigned.

Sturgis doesn't live in Hinds County District 2 and that is what prompted them to get the Attorney General's opinion.

That is good news for the residents of District 2 if and when Anderson decides to retire…AGAIN.
