One person is dead after being hit by a vehicle Saturday night in Hinds County.

The Mississippi Highway Patrol says it happened just before 11 p.m. on I-55 Frontage Road between Byram and the Wynndale Road Exit.

Troopers say Charles Lovorn, 33, pulled his 1997 Ford F-150 off the road. He stepped out of the truck and was struck by an oncoming vehicle.

One witness says it appeared to be a dark colored pickup truck that hit the Florence man. The vehicle may have damage to the front grill.
