Jackson Mayor Johnson will present special gift to Stewpot Monday

JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

The City of Jackson will honor the memory of Dr. Martin Luther King by providing for those in need in the Capital City.

Jackson Mayor Harvey Johnson will make a presentation Monday to Stewpot Community Services as a part of Dr. King's Day of service. He will be joined by representatives from the Metrocenter Mall.

The mayor will hand over donated canned food, personal items and about $15,000 in clothing collected for the King Day of service.

The presentation will take place at 10 a.m. at Jackson City Hall.
