SMITH COUNTY, TX (KLTV) -

A Department of Public Safety Trooper was involved in a crash in Smith County Monday.

The crash happened around 12:15p.m. near the intersection of Farm-to-Market Road 2015 and Interstate 20.

According to authorities, a trooper was pursuing a motorcycle whom he had clocked traveling more than 100 miles per hour. As the trooper followed the motorcyclist northbound on FM 2015, he lost sight of him as he topped a hill.

When the trooper turned around, he hit a truck pulling a trailer. The truck had been heading northbound on FM 2015 behind him, but the trooper said he did not see the truck.

"We never found the guy that was driving the motorcycle. The pursuit was terminated when the crash happened and we never located the motorcycle driver," said Texas Highway Patrol Sgt. Thomas Bledsoe.

There were no injuries reported in the accident.
