Beaten man runs to daycare for help

JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

It was a frightening scene Tuesday at a Jackson daycare center when parents arrived to pick up their children and found emergency responders at the site.

Jackson Police Precinct Three officers were called to the scene of a disturbance in the 3600 block of Lampton Avenue around 4:45 p.m.

A daycare worker, who did not want to be identified, said she saw a man stagger onto the parking lot then collapse. She said he was bleeding from his head.

Investigators said the unidentified man was a victim of a physical beating. He was transported by AMR to a local hospital. A passerby said the man ran from a nearby street.

The victim's condition was not immediately known. No arrests have been made.
