Charting a new course

Good Thursday morning from Mississippi News Now's Brandon Artiles!

52 degrees as most folks roll out of bed. Meteorologist Paul Williams will let us know how long he expects this warming trend to continue in his First Alert Forecast.

And breaking news from overnight, the Mississippi House of Representatives passed their version of the Charter Schools Bill in the wee hours of the morning. Jewell Hillery will join us with live reports from the Capitol on where this bill goes from here.

Plus, some health care providers are concerned their purse strings will be pinched if state leaders don't expand medicaid as part of federal health care reform.  It's new this morning and we take a closer look.

And those who drive on Jackson streets could be looking forward to a smoother ride if Mayor Johnson gets his way.

All those stories and much more are headed your way at the top of the hour.

Please join us from 5 to 7 and if you would like more Mississippi News Now, head on over to Fox 40 from 7 to 9.
