Mississippi casinos have large revenue increase

Posted: Updated:

Magnolia Bluffs Casino opened last month in Natchez and hired more than 260 employees.

The Isle of Capri is also located in Natchez. Vicksburg has four casinos. More are located in Greenville, Lula, and Tunica.

The Mississippi Gaming Commission reports gaming revenues at casinos on the Mississippi River increased more than $13 million in 2012, compared to 2011.

New regulations could be coming in March that would require new casinos to be sturdier, have a large gaming space, along with better restaurants and hotels.

To increase competition Magnolia Bluffs continues its grand opening campaign with concerts, such as Saturday night's live event with the Spinners.
