JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

Hinds County political couple, Supervisor Kenneth Stokes and his wife Councilwoman LaRita Cooper Stokes, continue their push to end violence in Jackson.

They, along with several supporters, handed out flyers, near Freedom Corner on Sunday afternoon, that read "Stop The Violence, Increase The Peace."

Cooper-Stokes says the city has up to $75,000 to spend on crime prevention and she has an idea how that money can be used to stop violence.

"We will hire a professional who is studied in the art of conflict resolution who will go and teach people how to end conflict other than by violence," explained Councilwoman Cooper-Stokes.

This is the second stop the violence rally the Stokes have held since the shooting near the  Martin Luther King Jr. parade in Jackson last week.
