Suspect pleads guilty to attacking boy inside Centennial Park restroom

NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

A man who was set to go on trial this week for attacking a boy inside a public restroom almost five years ago at Centennial Park has instead pleaded guilty.

Scobey Sowell plead guilty Friday to the aggravated sexual battery of a then-11-year-old boy in May 2008.

Sowell was inside the restroom when the boy entered, and he asked the boy for money before assaulting him.

Sowell left the area on a bike but was later arrested. He will serve 15 years in prison.
