No tornadoes but a troublemaker - - Jackson, MS

No tornadoes but a troublemaker

Good Wednesday morning from MSNewsNow's Brandon Artiles!

It's 55 degrees and as things stand now, those of us in central Mississippi have dodged the proverbial bullet.  Meteorologist Paul Williams will continue tracking the storm and bring us the latest at the top of the hour in his First Alert Forecast.

That being said, the storm's potent winds are posing problems that will be felt on the morning commute. 3 On Your Side's Jewell Hillery will be live from the intersection of Lakeland Dr. and Luckney Rd., in Flowood where traffic and street lights are down this morning.

A storm of another variety could be brewing at Nissan. Actor Danny Glover was in town rallying employees to unionize at the Canton plant.  In the WLBT AM Report find out how much of the Nissan work force is behind a union.

Plus, millions of dollars worth of goods have been halted as barge traffic on the Mississippi River waits for the waterway to re-open following the crude oil barge accident last weekend.

And, General Manager Dan Modisett weighs-in as Tulane University and Madison's mayor opposes a Jackson State campus in Madison.  That's in this week's "Sound Off".

All that and much more is headed your way.

Please join us from 5 to 7 and for more First Alert Weather, switch over to Fox 40 from 7 to 9.

Stay safe and have a great Hump Day!
