Mississippi boasts many talented singers like Elvis, B.B. King, and Faith Hill. And joining the long list of talented vocalist are two home grown singers who visited the Fox 40 News studio, to show why Mississippi is where American Idols are born.

Cynthia Ellis from right here in the Capital City has a love of singing and a has been belting tunes for most her life. While singing in the church is her passion, she gave our crews a firsthand look at why she is considered one of the most electrifying singers in the state.

Born is Brandon, Chris Link wears many hats, and yet always finds time to express her first love, singing. The mom and career woman can juggle it all while still staying true to her amazing lyrical gift. Chris came to our studio to share her passion and heavenly voice.

    One person has died in a crash near Harrisonville, MO, Thursday evening. The crash happened on Missouri Highway 7 and Walker Road. It involved a car and a tractor-trailer. Harrisonville is in Cass County.
    Savannah Nash celebrated her 16th birthday last week. She died Thursday when her car slammed into a semi while she was texting during her first time driving by herself.
