JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -
A study released this week says Mississippi has the fourth worst schools in the country.
"Education Week" released its annual "Quality Counts"report, which judged states on six categories.
Mississippi ranked second to last in K-12 Achievement.
However, the state is in the top 10 for Standards, Assessments and Accountability.
Overall, Mississippi received a "C -" on the report.
South Dakota schools were rated last. Maryland came out on top for the best schools in the country.
The District of Columbia was included in the study.
The report gave the U.S. as a whole, a "C+" on the report.
