PIKE COUNTY, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

An escaped inmate from Pike County is back behind bars after being captured in Moss Point Monday night.

Moss Point Police chief Keith Davis says officers nabbed Richard Glen Maples during a traffic stop around 10 p.m. The arrest was a coordinated effort between Mississippi Department of Corrections, Moss Point Police, Jackson County Sheriff's Department, and Ocean Springs Police.

Maples escaped from the Pike County Community Work Center in McComb around 10:30 Saturday night.

He was serving a seven-year sentence for burglary, vehicle burglary, identity theft, and credit card fraud in Jones County. Maples now faces an additional five-year sentence if convicted of escape.
