25 suspected fighting dogs to be euthanized

It's an overcast "hump day" afternoon in the metro. I'm Howard Ballou with a look at some of the news stories you will see on WLBT this Wednesday.

The Hinds County Sheriff's Office and the Mississippi Animal Rescue League worked to remove the remaining dogs from a suspected fighting and breeding operation that was busted Tuesday.

Plus, drivers need to watch out for the latest traffic snag along Fortification Street. A small portion of Jefferson Street, just south of Fortification Street, is blocked for the next three to four weeks.

And, Mississippi Commissioner of Agriculture and Commerce Cindy Hyde-Smith introduced the first issue of Mississippi Agriculture at the Capitol today.

Also, Saturday mail may soon go the way of the Pony Express and penny postcards.
