Jake Reed

Jake is a Summa Cum Laude graduate of the Mississippi State University Broadcast Meteorology Program. He was born and raised in Jackson and is thrilled to be able to work in his hometown.

Jake has previously worked as an on-air meteorologist for WCBI-TV in Columbus, MS, and WAPT-TV in Jackson.

An avid outdoorsman, Jake enjoys hunting and fishing and exploring rural areas of the state. He also enjoys nature photography.

 Jake has extensive experience in covering severe weather in the Metro, including tornado outbreaks and winter storms.

While at Mississippi State, Jake enrolled in specialty classes focusing on Severe Weather forecasting, Winter Weather forecasting, and Tropical Meteorology to give him an advantage in forecasting Mississippi's dynamic weather.

In his spare time, Jake also likes to study Geography, Statistics, Politics, and Music.
