Driver: Brake failure caused SUV crash

JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

An SUV landed on its side in a concrete ditch at State Street and Woodrow Wilson Avenue in Jackson Friday afternoon.

The driver of the Jeep Grand Cherokee said his brakes failed, and the vehicle still wouldn't stop when he used his emergency brake.

The man said he chose to drive the vehicle into the ditch to avoid hitting other vehicles or pedestrians.

The driver was the only occupant of the vehicle. He wasn't injured.
