Clarksville woman dies after crash at red light

CLARKSVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

An 82-year-old Clarksville woman has died after she was involved in a crash earlier this week.

Charlotte Binkley was driving a 1995 Oldsmobile 98 on Tuesday when she drove through a red light at the intersection of Crossland Avenue and Cumberland Drive and collided with a 1999 GMC Sonoma driven by a 45-year-old woman who had the right-of-way, police said.

Both women were transported to Gateway Medical Center for treatment of their injuries, and Binkley was later transferred by a medical helicopter to Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

Binkley died Thursday at Vanderbilt.
