JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -
A Hinds County crash on Interstate 55 north is slowing the Tuesday morning commute as traffic comes to a standstill in all lanes.
According to Mississippi Department of Transportation, the crash occurred at 7:27 a.m. in the northbound lanes of I-55 at exit 96A towards Pearl Street and Jackson.
Emergency crews are responding to the scene, but it is unclear if there are any injuries in the crash. MDOT officials report it could take up to two hours to clear the scene of the crash.
The two left lanes are blocked, but traffic is also slowly moving in all other lanes. Drivers are asked to avoid the area if possible.
