HATTIESBURG, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

As Hattiesburg residents work to clean up wreckage from the 800 homes that were destroyed and local businesses that were leveled during the tornadoes, video is emerging of an up close look at the storm responsible for the devastation.

Storm chasers from TVNweather.com captured a seven minute video of the EF-4 tornado that swept through Hattiesburg Sunday evening. You can hear as the chasers talk about debris flying through the air and question the next move of the dangerous funnel.

Following Sunday's severe storms, rain continued to pour down on central Mississippi, but rain was expected to taper off Tuesday night and just leave clouds behind.

Track the storms on the Interactive Radar to see when the rain will leave the area.

Wednesday may be the first time we'll have a day without the threat of rain in the forecast in quite some time. The extended 10 day forecast on the First Alert Weather app for your iPhone or Android will show when we can expect the sun to return.

The clean up efforts in Hattiesburg will finally have a dry day to recover, although plenty of puddles and muddy ground to deal with. Mostly cloudy skies with a high in the mid 50s; winds NW 15-20 mph. To learn how you can help the tornado victims, check out the needs of the Salvation Army.
