MOST WANTED: Theft at Ridgeland fitness center

Posted: Updated:
RIDGELAND, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

A Crimestoppers reward is available if you can help close the books on a Ridgeland case. Detectives call it a crime of opportunity.

The victim went to a Ridgeland fitness center in December for a late night workout. She left her car keys in a cup holder. Minutes later, three strangers entered. A man with a pony tail spotted the keys. Then, a woman joined him.

She put a napkin over the keys to hide them from surveillance cameras. The unidentified man quickly pocketed them. Police say the suspects then raided the victim's car and stole her purse.

Detectives say the trio then hit stores in Jackson and Ridgeland. The victim's stolen credit cards were used to run up bills totaling about $900.

Police have some clues, but need help identifying the suspects. If you have any information, call Ridgeland police at 601-856-2121 or Crimestoppers 601-355-8477.
