Two shot at south Jackson apartment complex

JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

Moving day turned tragic when shots are fired at a south Jackson apartment complex leaving two people injured.

Jackson police officer Colendula Green says two people were shot.

Investigators responded to the scene around 4:15 p.m. Saturday.

Witnesses at the scene said a friend was helping a new apartment resident move in at the Pine Ridge Gardens Apartments at 200 Rebel Woods Drive, when they were approached by two men with guns.

One person was shot in the neck and chest, the other victim was shot in the leg.

Authorities have not released the names of the shooting victims
