NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

A son is accused of selling drugs inside his father's Nashville business while it was supposed to be closed.

Police saw a suspicious vehicle in the parking lot of Cash on the Spot in the 2200 block of Murfreesboro Road.

The officer ran the vehicle's plate number through a database in the parking lot and then saw a person, later identified as James Byrd, coming out of the business.

The officer saw marijuana and Xanax in the suspicious vehicle and found drugs and cash on Byrd.

Police called Byrd's father, who owns the store, and said his son wasn't supposed to be there.

Authorities entered the business and found a woman, a loaded handgun, more marijuana and crystal meth.

Byrd is charged with felony drug possession.
