JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

Wednesday marks Mission Mississippi's first "Two and Two Together Restaurant Days," of 2013. You can participate by simply sitting and chatting with someone from another race or ethnicity over lunch or dinner.

If you do that you get a 20% discount on your meal at various restaurants in Jackson. The goal is to help Mississippians learn more about each other.

The Koinonia Coffee House is one of the participating restaurants. Koinonia co-owner Lee Harper said it's a way to be involved in the community.

"What better way to do that than to have people sit down over a meal and you don't have to have a big agenda just wanting to have a relationship with each other," said Harper.

Other participating restaurants include, High Noon Cafe', Broad Street Bakery, Two Sisters Kitchen, Bravo! and Sal and Mookies.

Two and Two Together Restaurant Days are scheduled on the 20th day of each month this year to honor Mission Mississippi's 20th anniversary.
