Program to feature portrayals of President Abraham Lincoln, Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. 

HARRISBURG, Pa., Feb. 21, 2013 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- President Abraham Lincoln and the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. will take to the stage for "A Living History Experience" on Thursday, Feb. 28 from Noon to 1 p.m. in the Forum Auditorium. The public is invited to witness this groundbreaking, multi-agency, state government celebration of Black History Month free of charge.

President Lincoln will be portrayed by nationally renowned Lincoln impersonator, Jim Getty, and Dr. King will be portrayed by local King impersonating sensation, Michael Joyner.  Local talents Nate Gadsden and Eric Jackson will also participate in the performance.  Musical selections will be provided by Diane Wilson-Bedford, The Earthtones and a special performance by the Harrisburg High School Drum Line.

The year 2013 marks two important anniversaries in the history of African Americans and the United States with the 150th anniversary of the signing of the Emancipation Proclamation and the 50th anniversary of the March on Washington and makes up this year's theme: "At The Crossroads of Freedom & Equality" The Emancipation Proclamation and the March On Washington.

A complimentary meal will be served after the program in the Atrium of the Keystone Building, Harrisburg, for those who attend the program. Entertainment will include a fashion show featuring clothing provided by Macy's, Shirley's Closet, Eddie's Men Shop and The Urban Snob. In addition, Ronnie Waters and Jimmy Wood will perform live music.
