Victim identified in Attala Co. crash

ATTALA COUNTY, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

One person was killed and three were injured in a weather-related crash in Attala County Thursday just before 6 p.m. According to Kosy Online Attala County Coroner Sam Bell has identified the victim as 30-year-old Marcus Hunt from Sidon.

Bell told Kosy Online the four people in the pickup truck were a construction crew. They were reportedly heading home to Greenville on Highway 19 when the truck they were in hit a wet patch and hydroplaned. The truck went across the center lane, flipped and hit a tree.

Hunt was a passenger in the vehicle. The driver and two others were taken to the hospital. One suffered serious injuries, and the other two had minor injuries, according to Kosy Online.

There have been a number of wrecks in the same location on Highway 19 south in the past,.
