It will go down in the books as a loss for UTEP on Wednesday night against Southern Miss.
It was a homecoming for Miner guard Twymond Howard.
The freshman is just one year removed from leading Pearl High School to a 27-4 record.
Howard was considered one of the top players in Mississippi in 2012 after averaging 25 ppg.
Those numbers caught the eye of UTEP head coach and Hattiesburg native Tim Floyd.
Floyd reeled Twymond to El Paso where he is going through the ups and downs of a freshman season in Conference USA.
Howard is averaging 1.5 points this season. He has played in 11 games.
