Suspect in Upshur County manhunt apprehended in Gregg County

UPSHUR COUNTY, TX (KLTV) -

The suspect who fled the scene of a traffic stop in Upshur County Saturday night was apprehended Sunday in Gregg County.

Lieutenant Fitzgerlad with the Upshur County Sheriff's Office tells KLTV that the suspect was apprehended Sunday, but that no other details were yet available.

Saturday evening, the suspect was being pulled over near the intersection of U.S. Highway 271 and North Point Pleasant Road, then fled the scene running southeast into nearby woods.

Authorities called off the search late Saturday night after they determined that the suspect was not a threat.
