81-year-old injured in parking lot attack

JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

Jackson police say an elderly woman was injured when a man snatched her purse and pushed her down in the parking lot of a Jackson store last week.

Officer Colendula Green says the 81-year-old victim was walking to her car in the Walgreens parking lot on Canton Mart Road when an unidentified man got out of his vehicle, pushed the woman down and took her purse.

The victim broke her wrist and refractured her hip from a November surgery, Green said.

Police have released surveillance video of the Feb. 18 attack in hopes of finding the man responsible. If you have any information about this crime, you're asked to call Crime Stoppers at 601-355-TIPS(8477).
