Police say the robbers bound one of the women with tape, and forced the other to the back of the store where they stole roughly $200 in cash and store merchandise.
JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -
Two employees of Thompson Wireless were ambushed by armed men Tuesday morning. The men robbed the store and remain at large as Jackson police search for the duo.
Officers say around 9 a.m., two women were opening Thompson Wireless in Maywood Mart, when they were rushed by the two men. The pair got away with cash and merchandise, including cell phones, which authorities may be able to track.
Precinct Commander Jesse Robinson explains the chain of events.
"One of the females was taped and put behind a partition. The other was forced back to the stock room where they took cell phone materials. At that point about $200 in cash and one of the employees' wallets was taken," he says, adding that the woman was taped at the wrists.
The women are shaken up but otherwise OK, and they remained on the scene.
Police are looking for the two men who fled on foot. They're considered armed and dangerous.
