JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -
Investigators believe arson is the cause of a deadly fire in Jackson. It happened Jan. 18 in the 2,400 block of Georgetown Avenue.
Firefighters found the duplex up in flames, along with heavy smoke rising above the building when they arrived.
A woman's body was discovered in that blaze. The family who lived in the other side of the residence escaped unharmed.
Jackson Fire Department Investigator Greg Travis says an accelerant was found at the scene and the victim's cause of death remains under investigation.
