JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

Jackson police are putting suspected drug dealers behind bars, with the help of concerned citizens.  Late Friday night, a call to the drug tip hotline led to the arrest of a man investigators call a 'major player'.

Jackson Police displayed the bounty of cash, drugs and guns, during a press conference Monday.  The arrest happened just before midnight Friday at 6562 Lyndon B. Johnson Drive in Presidential Hills.

The home owner, 39-Year-Old Tony Lewis is facing one count of possession of crack cocaine, and possession of a firearm.

Assistant Chief Lee Vance says, "This guy was high level. It gives me great pleasure for us to take this much money from him and put him in jail. We've already been speaking with our colleagues from the A.T.F., they're going to make a case against him."

350 grams of crack cocaine worth $60,000.00, a handgun and SKS assault rifle, and $15,000.00 in cash was found in the home. Officers got a tip about drug activity at the house, on their drug tip line.

Vance says, "The average citizen, they don't want this stuff in their neighborhoods. If you've ever lived next door to a drug dealer it's probably one of the worst experiences of your life."

Vance says there have been 41 drug arrests made through the drug tip line this year. Each one investigated by an experienced team of narcotics officers, dedicated to taking back neighborhoods, for the residents who call them.
