MARL has horses ready for adoption

Posted: Updated:
JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

The Mississippi Animal Rescue League has saved a number of horses from certain death this year. After a lot of TLC, 8 mares and geldings are ready for permanent news homes trough their adoption program.

Most of the horses have had a rough life. Some came to the MARL malnourished, others needed vet care. It took months to get them back in good health.

A few horses were given up by their owners who simply could not properly care and feed them during this tough economic time.

"The worse the economy, the more horses we get and the worse condition," added Moore. "Exactly nothing but skin and bones when they come here a lot of them."

Horses are expensive and they require a lot of attention. But they also give a lot back to their owners. Thanks to trainers, these horses are ready for a new lease on life in loving homes.

The Rescue League will be showing these beauties off Saturday, March 9, at the Tractor Supply Company in Clinton. The location is Springridge Road next to 1-20 west. They are offered for adoption.

Each mare and gelding has an individual fee. The fee for the quarter horses and 3 gaited horses ranges from $200 to $500.

Anyone interested in bonding with a new friend will work with a horse counselor. For more information call the Mississippi Animal Rescue League in Jackson at 601-969-1631.
