The creators of a website about the Phineas Upham House hope that the site will educate and inform visitors about the history of this particular historic home, as well as prompt them to continue learning about the many historic sites of Colonial Massachusetts.

The Phineas Upham House was constructed in Melrose, Massachusetts in 1703 by the descendant of a colonist named John Upham who traveled from Weymouth, England to Boston in 1635. It was owned by the Upham family until it was sold to the Melrose Historical Society in 1913. The Upham Family Society, a group of the descendants of John Upham, has owned and maintained the house since 1940. The currently grant interested parties visitation to the house by appointment.
