Just a few months ago they were filled with excitement about the possibility of a placement. That placement did not work and now they are hoping another appearance on Wednesday's Child will help them find a forever family. 14 year old Raven and 13 year old Tywain say they are familiar with disappointment, but that doesn't make it any easier.
Raven is about to celebrate her 15th birthday. Her brother Tywain is the typical little brother, teasing her, competing with her at bowling and finding ways to keep her laughing.
"I'm a lovable person, I like helping people. I love math", said Raven.
"I like to run , sing, play baseball, I like going to bible study, and I like science", Tywain said.
Tywain is outgoing and friendly. He likes being active and participating in outdoor activities. Raven is very intelligent, well mannered and lovable. She is 9th grade and has A's in all subjects.
"Have you thought about what you want to be when you grow up or what you want to do? A lawyer. How did you decide on law? Cause I like proving my point, like if something is not right I like going into detail and proving it", said Raven.
"Be a scientist. What would you like to study? I'd like to study the rotation of the earth", Tywain said.
Social workers say the children would do well in either a two parent or single parent home that provides structure, patience, guidance and support.
"It's kind of hard because we can't see each other, we just talk on the phone, it makes you sad", said Tywain.
"I just want to settle down in a home, instead of going from place to place", Raven said.
Raven is hoping this is the last birthday she will spend without her brother and without a permanent place to call home.
