New outlet mall equals more jobs and police officers

PEARL, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

The "Outlets of Mississippi," Pearl's up and coming outlet mall is expected to generate hundreds of new jobs for the area.

Pearl Mayor Brad Rogers said once the facility is built it could create at least 1,800 jobs. The mayor also said a new police precinct will be built inside of the mall. As a result, two to four new Pearl Police Officers will be hired.

Mayor Rogers said the city is also hoping to bring other big construction projects to the area.

"What we're pushing for is quite a few restaurants not that'll be in here. We're talking about name brand restaurants right now I also think you'll see some major developments in the area," said Mayor Rogers.

The mall is expected to open in November.
