JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

Funeral services for former Hinds County EOC Director Larry Fisher brought numerous fire engines and community members to Daniel Memorial Baptist Church Tuesday morning.

Nearly two dozen fire trucks lined Terry Road in honor of the former Emergency Operations Center Director. Fisher served in the position for 20 years.

A visitation period for family and friends was held an hour before funeral services, and interment with honors will follow at Lakewood Memorial Cemetery.

The 75-year-old died at his Byram home Saturday of an apparent heart attack.

Before serving as EOC Director, Fisher retired from the Jackson Police Department in 1981 with the title of Deputy Chief. Fisher remained active with the Hinds County Sheriff's Department and Byram Volunteer Fire Department until his passing.
