JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

Jackson Police have arrested one suspect in the Fuel Time gas station bank deposit robbery that occurred Tuesday afternoon. Twenty-two year old Jabari Peterson is in custody and charged with armed robbery.

The Fuel Time owner says he gave his son and his wife a deposit bag with more than $15,000 in it to take to the bank as a deposit for the business. He adds that the family takes the deposit at the same time each day.

"Might be they were watching like we go everyday at this time bank and having money bag in our hand," said store owner Rajinder Singh.

As the son and his mother left the store just before 2 p.m., they noticed a white car following them as they were getting onto Interstate 220. The store owner says someone in the white car fired a gunshot into the air and pulled alongside his son's truck and shouted for the son to pull over at the next exit.

"Showed a gun first and then shot in the air and they said move your truck over there. Take an exit, take an exit," said Singh.

"One guy was in the car, he was driving. And another came out with a gun and he said give the money in the bag and they take the bag and they just gone 220 North," explained Singh.
