JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -
There were some frightening moments Saturday afternoon when a child was struck by a car in south Jackson.
The accident happened around 1:45 p.m. on Branch Street near Suncrest Drive.
J.P.D. Officer Colendula Green said a nine year old boy was riding his bicycle when the collision occurred.
The unidentified child was struck by the vehicle as he rode in the street.
Investigators said he suffered a small bump on the head and was taken to the hospital as a precaution.
Precinct One Officers were talking with occupants of a dark blue late model Honda.
The driver was not charged.
