Victim ID'd, still no suspect in Cox St. shooting

According to Officer Colendula Green, the shooting happened around 1:15 a.m. Tuesday at 1714 Cox Street.

JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

While Jackson police still have no suspects or motive in a fatal shooting on Cox Street, the victim's identity has been released.

Hinds County Coroner Sharon Grisham-Stewart says Gregory VanBuren, 33, was killed early Tuesday morning. The Jackson Police Department is investigating the shooting, but officials have few clues to go on at this time.

According to Officer Colendula Green, the shooting happened around 1:15 a.m. Tuesday at 1714 Cox Street.

Green confirms VanBuren was shot inside the home multiple times.
