Fredericksburg, TX (PRWEB) March 21, 2013
The Admiral Nimitz Foundation is pleased to announce that Wounded Warrior Outdoors, Inc. will be co-beneficiary for the 4th Annual Nimitz Golf Classic on June 14, 2013. As co-beneficiary Wounded Warrior Outdoors will receive 10% of the funds raised by the golf tournament. Last year’s co-beneficiary was Operations Military Embrace out of San Antonio. The Admiral Nimitz Foundation presented OME with a check for $14,000 to support their mission of helping Wounded Warriors at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas.
Wounded Warrior Outdoors, Inc. was founded to exclusively to provide wounded servicemen and women with therapeutic outdoor adventures across North America. Adventures range from fishing excursions and alligator hunts in the Gulf Coast region of Florida to bear hunting in British Columbia, Canada.
"We are very excited to team up with such a great organization like Wounded Warrior Outdoors, and to be able to help them with their mission. As a veteran myself and having friends who have been wounded in combat, it is something that is very close to me", said Brandon Vinyard, Director of Marketing & Public Relations for the Admiral Nimitz Foundation.
Wounded Warrior Outdoors provides these all-inclusive adventures at no cost to the servicemen or women, their families or the government. Fifty wounded but active service members are chosen each year to participate. During their adventures the service members take part in therapeutic activities such as backpacking, trail expeditions, and other social activities.
