JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

Jackson police have identified the two victims who were injured in a shooting Tuesday afternoon in the parking lot of Big John's.

Officer Colendula Green says the shooting happened in the Big John's parking lot at 3399 Medgar Evers Boulevard. The victims, however, were able to drive themselves to the 2400 block of Georgetown Avenue to call 911 for help.

Green says 40-year-old Leonardo White was shot multiple times and is currently in a local hospital with life-threatening injuries. The second victim, Jessie Whitfield, 40, was shot three times, and is recovering in the hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

"According to witnesses, it was some type of green colored small compact vehicle. Either a Toyota Camry or a Honda Accord that came on to the parking lot of Big John's Restaurant and fired rounds in the victim's car," says Green.

Green said there is no motive or suspect at this time. However, officers are looking for a green, older model Honda Accord or Toyota Camry and a male driver, which may be connected to the shooting.
