She shares the name of a late singer, dreams of a shopping spree and unlimited minutes on the phone. 12 year old Aaliyah is hoping to dial the right number for a forever family on this week's Wednesday's Child.
Aaliyah takes pride in her appearance and especially enjoys shopping for new clothes. Aaliyah is 7th grade and like most middle school students she enjoys socializing with her friends.
"I like to hang out with my friends, shop and talk on the phone most of the time", Aaliyah told us.
Aaliyah has a special bond with her younger sister who did not want to participate in the taping. But she says like most little sisters she can be irritating.
"She likes singing. She sings Trust and Believe over and over again. When she does it the third time, I can't take it", Aaliyah explained.
Her favorite class in school is math and that class helped her decide what she wants to do when she grows up.
"Teach. Because I like doing math", said Aaliyah.
Aaliyah says only one word comes to mind when she thinks about a forever family, although she says it is important to be adopted with her sister.
"Fun people. That like to do things, like go shopping", Aaliyah said.
Aaliyah and her sister have been waiting for a forever family but she is hoping she will soon have a mom and dad to help her pick out clothes, plan family vacations and sing the same song over and over again.
