Ciara Gooden, 22, of Jackson pleaded guilty Wednesday to theft of government funds and aggravated identity theft.

Gooden admitted to using the personal identifying information of numerous unsuspecting people to file false federal income tax returns.

The false returns stated that the taxpayers were owed a refund, and refund checks were electronically deposited into the defendant's bank account.
